Majestic, Picturesque Southwark Bridge!

#Illuminated River is a long-term art installation transforming the Thames at night with an orchestrated series of light works that span nine bridges in central London. Come nightfall the light installations provide a uniquely accessible form of Public Art, and a joy to see!

 

 

Having listened to a few wonderful talks by Artist Leo Villareal, I could not wait to see the bridges in action. There are four completed. Choosing Southwark Bridge and a good vantage point I waited for the “magic hour”…. Luckily I was able to get some lovely changing colours of the bridge… balancing these with the background lights of the London skyline. Fascinating to watch!
